Symbols of the Nation

Your students will learn the origins and meanings behind many of the familiar national symbols. For example, where did our flag come from?  What is the history of the national anthem?  Why is there a pyramid on our dollar? Where did Uncle Sam come from?  Other symbols are discussed.

The history and symbolism of the American flag

The eagle vs. the turkey as a national symbol

The origin of Uncle Same

The story of the Statue of Liberty

The story of the Liberty Bell

The Great Seal of the United States
